Dr Helen Schinckel

Bio

Dr Helen Schinckel is a principal GP of Rose Street Clinic and joined the clinic in 1999. She studied medicine at Flinders University. After graduating she worked as a Resident Medical officer at Flinders Medical Centre and Repatriation General Hospital, whilst completing her general practice training through the RACGP’s Family Medicine Program in 1993.

Helen subsequently did further training with the Family Planning Federation (now Shine SA), and worked for them as a visiting medical officer. In addition, she worked as a Visiting Medical Officer in the emergency department at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital until 1996. In 1998, Helen completed an academic fellowship in ‘General Medical Education’ in Toronto, Canada. She is married with 2 children.

Helen also undertakes extra training as a GP supervisor and currently supervises our GP Registrar as a part of their ongoing training.
